The Nature Coas is chock full of fun! From outdoor activities like fishing, hiking and golfing to our unique local restaurants, you're sure to enjoy our nature-loving, down-to-earth community. Did I mention we are home to the manatees? There are so many things to see and do that I've listed a few of my favorites below.
Home of the manatees! You can literally see hundreds of manatees from about November to about March. They migrate to the mild waters of the Three Sisters Spring in Crystal River and it is one of the most beautiful untouched sites you've ever seen. There are many local programs to kayak and swim with the manatees.
Our little beach. It's small but nice! You may even get to visit with the dolphins that are often seen frolicking inside the swimming area! The sand has been recently refurbished and there is a pier and boat ramp. Sometimes there are food trucks and other vendors. There are on-site public plumbed restrooms for your convenience.
With several resident manatees, Florida native wildlife, and the famous hippo named Lu, this is a favorite destination in Homosassa Springs. Wonderful daily shows and events, especially during the holidays, enhance your experience with this gem in our community.
This newly redesigned park in the City of Crystal River features a natural shoreline with a beach that is open for swimming year round, a kayak launch, a playground for little ones, and a boardwalk for manatee viewing.
Yes, you heard me right! We have an island of monkeys right in the middle of Homosassa River. This is a must see when you have family visiting. The monkeys are so much fun and there are several restaurants and activities in the area.
Plantation is another unique destination in Crystal River with a dine-in restaurant, waterfront tiki bar and an adventure center for swimming with manatees and sunset cruises. So much to see and do here.
This scratch kitchen in Homosassa by Chef Wallace features fresh seafood, great steaks, big pork chops, tea brined chicken and many gluten free and vegetarian/ vegan options. They have a full bar featuring island inspired cocktails, hand picked wines, and craft beer.
This unique place in Crystal River is both a fish market and a restaurant. The fresh grouper is caught daily and meals are prepared with a cajun twist. It has the best clam chowder you've ever tasted.
The Breakfast Station is a favorite of locals for breakfast and lunch. There are several locations in the area including one just North of the the Sugarmill entrance on 19 in Homosassa. Meals are well prepared and served with a smile.
Peck's is local hangout. Take a scenic drive down Ozella Trail to see the keys or arrive by airboat. The restaurant features Fresh Seafood and American Cuisine. There is indoor seating and outdoor waterfront seating for your dining pleasure.
Sip on one of their famous "Fishbowl Margaritas" while enjoying the beautiful views of the Homosassa River. The menu ranges from fresh local seafood to mouth watering black angus steaks.
Tourists come from miles around to enjoy the shrimp dipped in butter at this waterfront tiki bar in Homosassa serving a variety of beer on tap.
Crackers is a local favorite with both indoor and outdoor seating. They have live music.
Vintage on 5th is an eclectic, destination restaurant located in the historic downtown area of Crystal River, FL in a renovated church built in 1940. Their creative cuisine uses fresh ingredients sourced locally whenever possible, complimented by a great selection of fairly priced, food friendly wines.
This is a waterfront tiki bar with outside seating in Homosassa. It is a local favorite as well as a favorite of tourists. Crumps features great American Cuisine and several full bars on the property. Live music and karaoke are often provided for your entertainment. There is a beach, a playground and a gift shop so it is sure to offer something for everyone in the family.
Last but not least, there is a country club in Sugarmill Woods. There are several golf courses including the top rated World Woods. However, there is also so much more. There is a clubhouse that serves lunch and dinner (and you can carryout)! There are pools as well as workout facilities. They hold events every month such as dances, trivia and name that tune parties. They host many clubs such as cocktail cuties, bridge club and game night. This is not your daddy's country club.
Membership rates are very reasonable. Stop by and check it out for yourself.
